I assume your A5 is an automatic transmission with a metal intake manifold. So until I'm able to crawl underneath and get the tensioner inspected to make sure I don't have the old faulty version, does this appear to be acceptable for 85k miles, or should I plan on ordering stuff to replace the chain, tensioner, guides, bridges, all that good stuff? I did another reading after a few more minutes and the phase position increased to -4.92 degrees. IDE00182 Camshaft adaptation intake bank 1: phase position -4.33 ºĪctually, this reading was done a few minutes after startup.
IDE00179 Camshaft adjustment intake bank 1: actual value 28.109 º IDE00178 Camshaft adjustment intake bank 1: specified value 28.000 º Plugged in VCDS this morning and let the car warm up for 5 to 10 mins, I got these readings: Haven't been able to get the car up yet to inspect for which tensioner I have yet (and need to do, I suppose). Been taking a crash course on the timing chain tensioner all morning as I've been trying to determine where my car sits with this whole chain and tensioner business.
